- With no documents open, select iLogic Design Copy (Tools tab – iLogic panel – iLogic Design Copy ).
- Select the source project.
The project must contain a workspace definition. Only files contained in the project workspace can be copied.
Linked documents located outside the workspace are reused in the target project/document copy.
- In Files to Copy, select the root assembly document.
- Selects all non-linked documents (Inventor or non-Inventor files) to be included in the copy set.
- Make sure to select all non-linked, non-Inventor documents required by the rules contained in the design template for the rules to be successfully enabled in the copied documents.
- Linked documents located outside the project workspace will be reused (links to these documents will remain in the copy of the document) and will not be copied. Linked documents outside the workspace of the copied project cannot be previewed.
- Click Next.
- Specify the destination folder for the copy, and indicate the project.
- Select Create New Project to create a copy of the project file with a new name.
- If you do not want to create a project file, select Use Source Project, which will copy the files and folders to the specified destination folder. As a best practice, do not place iFactory (iPart, iAssembly, iFeature), library and Content Center files in the workspace of the source project; the project workspace folder should only contain the files that need to be copied (as they are part of the iLogic Design Template) .
The directory structure of the replica set is preserved in the target replica.
- If you want to rename a file, first specify the prefix or suffix of the new filename. Use characters that are valid for filenames supported by Windows.
After entering a file prefix or suffix, the Rename checkbox will be visible.
- Rename the file (if needed). Use the Rename Non-Inventor File option and/or the Rename option for each file.
By default, iFactory document members (located in the workspace or its subfolders) are not set to be renamed. iFactory automatically generates these document names.
- To delete all rules in the copy of the document, select Delete Rules.
Use this option to delete iLogic rules from a shared document, or when the copied ruleset is incomplete.
Select Update Part Numbers to make the destination file’s part number (iProperty) the same as the source file name.
- Click Start.
